{Monarch} Knitting

so ive gotten to visit quite a few knitting shops and even if they are super cute, i don't always walk in and fall in love right away.  i finally got a chance to visit Monarch Knitting in Pacific Grove.  this time it was a little bit of love at first sight... ok a lotta bit.  little did i know that when i hopped on my bicycle i would be happily filling that basket in the front with all kinds of new goodies.
even the sign is adorable!

as soon as you walk in the first thing you notice is how bright and open and just, well... beautiful it is. there is a table with all kinds of pretty bags and needle cases, there are flowers.  everything is organized by weight.
as i walked around i couldn't help but notice...

that
         i

               l o o o o o v e d
everything.

i kept seeing things that i had seen in other stores and loved, or things that i'd almost bought online. things that i'd bought before.  {Lantern moon} needles, {addi} clicks, whoever makes those adorable bird project bags.

the shawl clips were some of the nicest i'd seen, there were even little scissors and knitting cards.  oh and did i mention there were sock monkey measuring tapes at the register? sock. monkey.

i can't stress enough, its like a {best of} knitting shop. like- this team is going to the olympics best of.

here's a quick run-down of some of the yarns : Shibui, Berroco, Madelintosh, Blue Sky Alpacas, Malabrigo, Debbie Bliss, Misti Alpaca, Cascade, Rowan, and two new to me ones that I fell in love with, Sublime and the Fibre Company.

yes it probably has the most complete collection i've ever seen.

any who.  i'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
sublime indeed
they even have embroidery floss!

this roomy table has huge corner windows!

there's even a kid's table :)

so all i had was my phone so please excuse the not so amazing pictures.  i did end up leaving with a fun kit for some Windsor Mitts, a Lantern Moon needle case, even a cute little cable needle case, some adorable Bryspun scissors, and of course... a little surprise for a friend! :)

  1. Wonderful review! I can't wait to check out the store. I actually liked your pics of the store quite a bit, felt a bit like a French film.
